Open Command Window Here This is by far my favorite XP Power toy. XP Power toys are a collection of “extra”, free software from Microsoft that you can download. Once you have downloaded and installed the power toy, it will appear on your “right-click” menu. You can see from the image to the left how easy it is to use. Anytime you need to jump into a folder to run a command, it is very quick and easy. It is one of the first items I install on a new PC I am using. Cost: Free.

Macro maker is a great piece of free software. MacroMaker is loaded with features and is 100% and totally free. I searched and tried out many different Macro programs, some free, some not free. Macro Maker came out as one of the best. You can create a macro to do just about anything you wish. Can also schedule when you would like the macro to run.

Service Manger is a free small program that will sit in the tray and let you start and stop services quickly. It lets you monitor a service with green and red colors to indicate the service status. One click to show what services depend upon another service. This tool is very handy to easily check the status of a service by simply looking at the tray icon.
