Aptana is a free nicely featured editor. I am currently trying it out only as a general pupose web editor. So far I like the features and the layout. The download file is actually quite large, so beware if you don’t have a fast connection. Aptana can be downloaded at www.aptana.com

This is by far my favorite XP Power toy. XP Power toys are a collection of “extra”, free software from Microsoft that you can download. Once you have downloaded and installed the power toy, it will appear on your “right-click” menu. You can see from the image to the left how easy it is to use. Anytime you need to jump into a folder to run a command, it is very quick and easy. It is one of the first items I install on a new PC I am using. Cost: Free.

Google has added a new resource to the webmaster sitemaps tools. This is one of the best things they have added since releasing the sitemap tools. Once you are logged into your google site maps account, and drill down into your website, you will see a new tab called “Links”. This will show internal and external links on your website. Then you can click on a page name to show all the external links pointing to that page. Very interested stuff to look through. It will display the date when it first found the link also.

Macro maker is a great piece of free software. MacroMaker is loaded with features and is 100% and totally free. I searched and tried out many different Macro programs, some free, some not free. Macro Maker came out as one of the best. You can create a macro to do just about anything you wish. Can also schedule when you would like the macro to run.

Service Manger is a small program that will sit in the tray and let you start and stop services quickly. It lets you monitor a service with green and red colors to indicate the sevice status.
